At Corsmed we develop the world’s most proficient MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) simulation platforms. Often referred to as “the flight simulator of MRI”, our platform is used to educate current and future MR-operators to better help patients all around the world. Joining Corsmed, you will be an integral part in a team of creative and driven engineers that deliver a reliable and scalable platform that is used globally. As an Architect/PO/Lead, you should be curious about how to build large-scale, business-critical systems with modern technologies. Your responsibilities will include researching and designing the architecture, planning development of new features (together with PM and CTO), and managing a tech team of backend-, frontend-, and devops- engineers. The features, services and architecture is a computationally heavy and business critical system, which must be scaled in an efficient and reliable manner.

We are in an exciting phase where the platform must evolve in order to ensure continued scalability of the product and our business. In this, you will help make decisions on which architecture and technologies are best suited for our future challenges.

We believe you have:

  • At least a couple of years relevant working experience
  • Experience in some of the techniques we use (see below)
  • Been part of projects building modern high performing web-services
  • Experience in database modeling and performance optimization
  • Passion for software development, scalable architecture and product building
  • A strong interest for testing and automation, and care about code quality
  • Excellent communication skills and can work both independently and in a team

General responsibilities will include

  • Leading the team by example in terms of committment and accountability to quality and delivery
  • Learning and understanding the business context and logic in a deep way
  • Analyze users' needs and finding applications to serve them
  • Suggest architectural solutions applicable to the problem/context
  • Setting up documented quality standards for the rest of the team to follow
  • Delegating work and assignments to team members when needed
  • Collaborating with their team to identify and fix technical problems
  • Managing and coaching developers (including 1:1s with Developers) and their career paths in collab with management
  • Hiring, opboarding and training technical personnel
  • Conducting security, performance, scalability and other quality audits to identify areas of improvement
  • Guiding the teams through technical issues and challenges with proper structure and documentation
  • Active communication about process and other improvements and risks inside the project

Approx persona

  • 10+ years of experience desirable
  • Worked with at least 2 programming languages in production — 1 of them is a backend language like C#, GoLang or Scala
  • Understands full-stack Architectures — not only backend
  • Has experience with modern distributed architectures like MicroServices
  • Has experience with both SQL (e.g. Postgres) and NoSQL (e.g. Redis)
  • Has experience with proper DevOps and Continous Delivery (e.g. CI/CD pipelines and the ability to release a system with multiple frontends and microservices with one-click)
  • Is well versed in QA Automation and Continous Testing in a CI/CD pipeline
  • He is committed to automated testing (e.g. TDD or BDD) as the standard team practice
  • Has managed teams of 3+ people before and is a good communicator - understands the role of people management in this position and collaboration models
  • Understands product/project management best practices like Product Discovery, UX, Prototyping, Scrum and Kanban
  • Understands well requirements management and how good Epics/Stories look like and what level of detail is needed to ensure quality
  • Has good leadership skills and others talk highly of him/her when references are checked
  • Demonstrated skill to work under pressure and tight deadlines in a Startup
  • [Bonus to Have] Direct experience with the tech stack in question (GoLang, React, MatLab etc.)
  • [Bonus to Have] Has built similar systems in HealthTech, BioTech and similar domains
  • [Bonus to Have] Has demonstrated behaviors to systematically get really deep into a complex backend and business logic that he doesn't understand and to document how it works for others to understand
